Re: 8 players to 16 players limit (and back)

Being able to support games with many players and with spectators is a selling point of spring. I can see no situation in which it is imposed in a wide manner. However, if there is a requirement to allow gamedevs to impose player-count limits or to disable spectating, it might be considered. Note th...

Re: RIP BA

You want a working game, talking isn't going to do the work for you. I'll make it clear - the engine project will not put itself in any risk for the sake of any one game, BA or otherwise. Therefore you can either: 1) Port the game you want to play to a recent engine. 2) Hire someone else to do it. 3...

It good and right and it's yours own business but it should not broke all project in result, right? If i want to start to develop spring for increase my technical challenge i should not do destructive changes? Re: [misc] enforcment of spring >= 104.0 for autohosts with botflag

Ok. I understand this. In this case developers who want own innovations should to leave project and do something own games. Not this public project. You seem to get Open Source wrong. While the code and products are public, the organisation is definitely not. We are not state nor shareholder owned....

Re: [misc] enforcment of spring >= 104.0 for autohosts with botflag

Usually, in commercial developments, everyone is chasing after features, because without this there will be no sales. The client will not buy the update if there are no innovations in products. Nobody needs innovations here. We are all not young people anymore and we just want a stable product with...

Re: [misc] enforcment of spring >= 104.0 for autohosts with botflag

this is an idea invented by forboding angel As far as I know (and from a search in mod discussion) this is not the case. Find another scapegoat. Whomever did come up with the idea is irrelevant, as the decision of maintaining it is by the entirety of the moderating team. I assure you this has nothi...

Re: [misc] spring >= 104.0

First of all you should have never encouraged and supported BA devs in doing those massive changes to the game mechanics and UI while moving to a major engine upgrade. Listen y'all. I understand that you have problems with the development of your games and you don't have the manpower to main...

Re: The future is here

Out of interest, how is it saved, how is the lua state restored? The code is actually not very sophisticated: https://github.com/spring/spring/blob/develop/rts/System/creg/SerializeLuaState.cpp I've mirrored all of lua's data structures and integrated spring's serialisation framework (creg) in the ...

Bugs seem to be gone :-)

Feel free to test saving and loading on your games and report what you find.
Make sure to use 104.0.1-1118-g89a6f16 maintenance or later (I'll put a link when the buildbots build it)

The future is here

https://youtu.be/FhwWfE64P4Q To explain what you're seeing, this is regular ZK being saved and loaded by the engine with barely any work required from the game developer. The engine saves the synced lua states in their entirety and loads them back virtually unchanged. Note that at the moment saving ...

I think that it would be a misstake to drop Mac since it's obviously a growth platform and there is really no extra work since it's built from unix just like linux.
If it's no extra work you can probably set up the builds yourself?
