How about instead you remove adv. air defence, make the lv1 air defence cost 1.5x the metal, and make the lvl1 and lvl2 VToL factory a lot cheaper. Make air domination something you have to really fight for. If you don't control the air, you will be bombed! The more I think about it, the more it see...

Thanks, Doomweaver :) We're very close to our next release, but we don't want to bring it out until we are certain that it plays well. Keep your eye out for it! Personally, I am most looking forward to the release of AATA. Me too, I hope it's better than WD, which isn't bad but isn't solid either. ...

Hang on - is it actually deforming a mesh, or just changing the angle that the reflections are rendered from, causing it to appear deformed?

HOLY F*CK. This is best damn shader ever invented. It will be interesting to see how it looks with ships that aren't bopping up and down, if it doesn't look good then maybe you can create an option for high end users to restrict the battle room to people who have it enabled then you could implement ...

If you're going to go to all that effort, let us fly around the map in the background. I dunno if you should be able to control the camera's path or not.

Greennail, isn't that sort of pointless if it just LAUNCHES the lobby? I mean, you can play single player in the lobby.

Seems pretty silly to me, anyway, whatever.

What's happening with the new map format? Will it be in the next version?

I'd like a relatively quick, small but powerful armored tank, which when killed has a small explosion which prevents it from leaving a corpse. Even better would be if it were resistant to lasers. Would be expensive, but useful for those small chokepoints which your opponent defends with a couple of ...

I meant for a gameplay point of view... I mean, they don't have to look very cool at all, they just have to be extremely visible.

Sorry, this might have been answered already, but are we going to revert to OTA style metal? Forget realism, visible metal patches are superior in every way.

Re: OTA Mod Development

I know the engine doesn't necessarily allow all these things but If we could come up with a topic listing the mods shortfalls then we could go about having them addressed one by one. And eventually end up with an OTA that's like Cavedog's TA. The current metal system sucks, it's probably the only g...

no they dont. They keep going until someone snaps. And someone will snap eventually. Plus, if everyone ignores them and does nothing about it, and they just keep going, what would the noobs think when they first join? They just see this unmoderated spam channel. Not very inviting at all. Good point...

I know nothing about development and only a little more about linux, but something on this thread doesn't gel. If TASpring works in WINE without sync errors, why shouldn't a fix be possible for the native linux version? Surely you can just do whatever WINE does in order to get around this problem.
