Re: Transfer BA repo ownership to Mando

Please transfer BA repo ownership to Mando. He has been running the only active host for several weeks now and seems the best choice to preserve BA legacy for future generations.     https://media1.tenor.com/images/ba36503f632802a42e6fda2a96b9edbd/tenor...

Re: Spring v104.0.1+ BA10.24 unsync

What I detected from the outset was that you are currently fairly incompetent when it comes to running a SPADS host and working with games and the engine in general. I should not to know it well because i'm user. I should to follow the instructions which now do not lead to a working result. They do...

Re: Spring v104.0.1+ BA10.24 unsync

Forboding Angel detected roots of the bug. What I detected from the outset was that you are currently fairly incompetent when it comes to running a SPADS host and working with games and the engine in general. As a result I knew that your var dir was probably severely fucked up, which is why I had y...

Re: Spring v104.0.1+ BA10.24 unsync

Oh ok, I see. In the linux install of spring, pr-downloader is in the bin folder, whereas in windows it is in the root (this info is valid as of the last time I looked). To use pr-downloader, sometimes it is better to enclose things in " " marks e.g. when you have a path with a space in it. Sometime...

Re: Spring v104.0.1+ BA10.24 unsync

Wh-- what? I have been telling you what to do on your host, not what to do in your local spring install. I don't care about your local spring install. Honestly I feel like you don't understand what you're doing to the point of where it doesn't make much sense to try to help you. I don't think my ins...

Re: Spring v104.0.1+ BA10.24 unsync

Ok at this point we can be relatively sure that we have the engine sorted out properly. So that leaves the game itself. You need to clear out anything game related so that we can start from scratch. Once that is done, use pr-downloader to grab ba from rapid. pr-downloader --download-game ba:stable Y...

Also, when you manually dl the minimal portable, compare the md5 of the downloaded file to what is on the server.

Re: Spring v104.0.1+ BA10.24 unsync

Code: Select all

autoManagedSpringDir:spring
For the sake of it, try setting this to the full path. Shouldn't be necessary or cause an issue, but just for the sake of being extra paranoid in making sure that spads is looking in the correct locations 100% of the time.

Re: Spring v104.0.1+ BA10.24 unsync

There is a massive difference. I feel that you don't really care to learn about those differences which, while irritating, is whatever. Run them as dedicated. I feel that your datadir used for these is probably an utter shitshow. I recommend that you go into your engines folder and delete everything...

Re: Spring v104.0.1+ BA10.24 unsync

To me it sounds like you may not have your spring datadirs properly configured and as a result, SPADS may be inadvertently pointing to develop instead of maintenance or perhaps something related to that line of thinking. My *nix hosts never had this issue. I am confident that it is a configuration p...

Re: RIP BA

I suggest temporarily ban this user. Constructive conversation with him is not possible. I don't think that he is developer or player. I described technical problems and, instead of an adequate response, I received only personal insults. I think that this user has no place in the circle of like-min...

Re: RIP BA

You are only antagonizing BA players. I'd say that's good enough reason. I have multiples of them, at any given time, accusing me of all kinds of false shit. One of them even went so far as to say that I was in their discord spouting off racist and homophobic slurs. While anyone that knows me knows...

Re: RIP BA

First of all, this is the general discussion forum, you don't like me posting in it? Tough cookies. Constructive? I fail to see where any of this has been constructive. You guys have been shitting on the engine devs from the beginning for issues that are your own problem. Not understanding a single ...

It's problem not SPADS. Bibim don't know how to solve it and it's problem only last versions BA (10.xx). All others mods and old BA 9.46 works perfectly. Stop talking, just try. I'm waisted already a lot of time for testing it. Cannot replicate on my linux hosts, so in my opinion, you're full of sh...

Re: RIP BA

I'm not sure why all this anger and hate is being directed at me for simply expressing my opinion and stating my observations. My impression is that Forboding Angel is really bitter about something and misdirecting his anger at members of the BA community. There was no anger or hate in the post abo...

Re: RIP BA

1)Dear developers, you did bad incompatible versions. It's the reason why even people than want to play in new BA, cannot play to it. You didn't ask yourself why now it's only one man Fabrice Fabs have linux autohosts with it? Becouse you did such way that if you sync at one miltiautohost you canno...

Re: Third War: A new Spring game

Once again, it is you who is not understanding. No one is saying that BA is like TA. By referring to *A we are making the observation that one *A game is pretty much the same as another *A spring mod. None of these mods are anything like OTA though. If you legitimately think that, then you haven't p...

Re: RIP BA

So they still haven't figured out that PA is BA but 104 compatible? In Silentwings' thread I almost made a snide comment when he fixed it, but then I decided to not spill the beans and see how long they kept shooting themselves in the foot. The facepalmyness of this is real. Fwiw, there is a differe...

Re: 1208 Maintenance - Decloak range is not causing decloak

I have to say that I'm a little bothered that this was moved to lua without gadgets in place to restore the original behavior. Tobi used to do this and it was really awesome. I realize that you likely don't want to deal with writing gadgets every time you move something over (if for no other reason ...
