Re: SPRING CRASHES
Thanks a lot marciolino, this did the trick for me. I wonder why there are so many wrong variants of this option floating around and I wonder what it means. LoadingMT=0 works for me, libtxc_dxtn doesn't seem to be required on this very recent system (tried the same game/map with and without, the res...

Re: Varieties of 'nux?
The only real way to go is to let packagers handle the packaging. Don't try to package yourself. There are far too many distros out there. If you want it to be packaged for distro XYZ, then contact a packager/maintainer. Static linking is frowned upon for a number of reasons, some people do it anywa...

Re: SPRING CRASHES
Yes, other openGL games work fine (tested with freedroidRPG, naev, etc.). The weirdest thing is that it sometimes started back when my openGL setup was messed up (had an ENV variable set that pointed to the 32bit graphics driver, something that supposedly was required for wine). The performance was ...

Re: SPRING CRASHES
I thought this was required to get textures? For that reason I installed libtxc_dxtn-1.0.1. I uninstalled it and tried again, spring crashes anyway and with the same error.

Re: SPRING CRASHES
Well, it's integrated, so I can't change it. I can't downgrade drivers either, not sensibly at least. They are the latest (http://mesa3d.sourceforge.net/ -> 7.11.2). I lowered all details that seemed like they could have influence. I didn't find any way to disable Lua-widgets in springsettings.

Re: Spring on Intel or ATI 'open-source' drivers
If the glxinfo output contains 'GL_EXT_texture_compression_s3tc', good, otherwise you need to install libtxc_dxtn. The necessary code to go into ~/.drirc for force-enabling this stuff is something like this: <driconf> <device screen="0" driver="i965"> <application name="Defa...
