Re: Why is there only one version of Spring in the ppa?
Wouldn't those older versions have to be available somewhere? I certainly don't have those .deb files lying around locally. Example session: ~$ sudo apt-get install spring=89.0~11.10~ppa1 ... spring is already the newest version. ~$ sudo apt-get install spring=88.0~11.10~ppa1 ... E: Version '88.0~11...

Re: Why is there only one version of Spring in the ppa?
Hmm... "It's simply not possible with the way spring packing is setup atm." Well, that's not really an answer, is it? When I'm browsing in synaptic through some of my installed packages, there seem to be plenty of them where I could force another version if I wanted to. So, as a complete n...

Why is there only one version of Spring in the ppa?
I'm using the ppa from https://launchpad.net/~spring/+archive/ppa to get the spring engine on my Ubuntu based system. Usually, this works great, but it breaks down when for example, I just upgraded to 89 and the Zero K community (in their collective wisdom) subsequently decides to fall back to 88. S...

Re: Going back to 0.82.7.1 on Ubuntu 10.10
As dansan mentions, it's the Spring Engine you should build from source. Have a look at http://springrts.com/wiki/Download#Late ... e_Snapshot to get the tarball.bashar wrote:Do you have a link to the tarball??

Re: Going back to 0.82.7.1 on Ubuntu 10.10
Sorry det, that doesn't work for me - since that version is not available on Koshi's PPA. I think the packages you mention are for Ubuntu 11.10.det wrote:Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install spring-common=0.82.7.1+dfsg1-3ubuntu1 spring=0.82.7.1+dfsg1-3ubuntu1
Maybe I'll just try to build one from source this weekend...

Going back to 0.82.7.1 on Ubuntu 10.10
I'm using the ppa from https://launchpad.net/~spring/+archive/ppa. Recently, the engine was automatically upgraded to 0.83. However, when I open the SpringLobby (v0.139), I am greeted with the message "No compatible installed spring version has been found, this server requires version: 0.82.7. ...

Re: Is it possible to watch replays together?
The feature request is already there: http://projects.springlobby.info/issues/39. It's only four years old, so I'm positive it will be done soon...

Re: Is it possible to watch replays together?
Well, too bad that it isn't possible using the Springlobby. I think I can feel a feature request coming...

Is it possible to watch replays together?
I think it would be fun and instructive to watch replays together with someone else, so that we can discuss the game and point out each other's strengths / weaknesses. Is this possible in some way (other than inviting the other person over to my house )?
