Re: Its time to remove the engine restrictions

Yeah sorry, how many people are playing ba10 again? ok, all we need is a forum where you cannot ban people, and the community will grow again. Its the best RTS ever and open source I even have the original source code openGL model loader still from 2004. At that time at about age 20 I had coded a fe...

Re: BA is being revived ? suspicious

Looks to me like BA10 pissed people off enough to come back out of hiding.

Re: Its time to remove the engine restrictions

Hi this is Helmet.

For those of us that actually play the game the alternate server is old news and full most of the time. I think the next step should be a new forum as well.

Re: Multi Thread engine question

Is the executable called "spring-multithreaded" or "spring-mt"? Yes. What else would I be talking about ? is this a dev only forum? where are you supposed to get help then I won't be doing that, and you don't have to help. Most games come with a suggested hardware configuration....

Re: Multi Thread engine question

not sure, I update spring when it makes me update spring, so whatever version is the download. The same version everyone else who isn't a dev uses.

Multi Thread engine question

Hi. I don't know where this topic belongs.

I fired up the MT version of spring today and it crashed. What configuration has been proven to work best for MT? as far as hardware/software components go?

Thanks.

Re: Pathing algorithms

QTPFS is pretty nice, but it has two fatal flaws that prevent its use right now: - Hideous RAM usage on larger maps, easily exceeding gigabytes. - Quite noticeable lag between when unit receives move order and whe it actually starts moving. Spamclicking a unit to move move move to some location whe...

Re: Suggestion/Feature request: kudos for teamplay

the friends/foes list would be awesome. Build it into the TS rank and you would end up teams with people you want to play with

Re: Overpowered faction

yep 90% of players that are good and know core as well as arm simply play arm, I know if I am in doubt about the survival of my team ARM is the automatic choice.

If players don't know how to play the other faction then its time they learn :) most of the units are counterparts.

Re: Why hasn't DSD been banned?

Question for the OP (since this thread is still alive and kicking): How do you ban a map? Do you ban it by name? Someone can rename it and still play. Do you ban the user? There are no rules against playing a map. You want to add that to the list of rules - No DSD? Do you want to take the time to m...

Re: Why hasn't DSD been banned?

Not a solution that you could implement, in any case, as a maintainer, nor would you really care since you probably don't play the game

Re: Screamer and Mercury are still shit

should make a targeting facility like there is for bertha, that ensures they do not all fire at the same target, at least. Then lower the cost to what it was before. Its nothing but a noob trap now this makes sense cuz the only way these towers would talk to each other would be a central computer sy...

Why hasn't DSD been banned?

I swear this has gotten worse. Of the ten times I've logged in over the past couple weeks, at least 7 of those times DSD is the only map being played I don't play it anymore, having played every conceivable strategy on that map already when I started playing it 6 yrs ago maybe its time to stop playi...

Re: And the most popular spring game of 2012 is:

I don't understand how you can call anything a developer community when the whole point would appear to be getting people to play your games for me anyways I've watched the game empty out over the past 5 years it could have been a lot more. I'll stop, I'm not contributing anything, I'm just a player...

Re: And the most popular spring game of 2012 is:

technically its not all the same game but 3 or so years ago ~70% of the players played BA... inactivity on BA subforum is a result of players leaving the community maybe. I think they left because they got the stagnant and obscure land mines gameplay they wanted. it was original TA players who came...
