Re: Questions about BA
You are sidestepping your lack of context in your previous post, but no matter. The problem with claiming that pathfinding changes made ba a worse game, is that those claims are entirely false and that has been proven time and time again. You can say it all you like, but saying it more often does n...

Re: Questions about BA
When engine changes make BA a worse game, then you can expect people to comment on it, even bitch incessantly. If the playerbase doesn't like changes made to the pathfinder, the reasonable thing would be to revert them - this unfortunately never happened. Your mindset that player input should be dis...

Players know nothing about the game they play? Go fuck yourself.

Re: Questions about BA
Hard to know or remember all the different changes, something changes engine-side and some time later a mod-side change is made to compensate. Then the engine is changed again, again and again, fixing whatever issues the previous iteration had while introducing new isses. But there was a time when t...

Re: I think the commander as it is is a bad game mechanic
In my opinion com metal could be tested at 1500 and 2000 however it needs intensive testing and no other simultaneous changes during this process. There is very fundamental skill and technique built into the current com metal value as it stands, it is a strong and unique mechanic that really emphas...

Re: I think the commander as it is is a bad game mechanic
That said, yes, sometimes I do wonder if BA is a game for me, since it's just often not really very strategical or even that tactical. As it is, it's mostly two things: If you play 1v1, it's commander micro. If you play large team games, it's pre-learned eco build queues with little variation. That...

Are they playing water maps because it's good or because it's new? ~Nobody who liked old sea, really enjoys the current one to the same extent, that's my experience.

Re: Planetary Annihilation (Incoming Moon Drops!)
Its not a route I'm taking, its just what the industry has taken. Stories are simply held to a much much higher standard than they have been in the past. Mmh I don't think so, video game story lines tend to suck horribly. They are firstly usually bad storylines to start with, and secondly not imple...

Re: CORE Sealab - Destroyers get stuck
Not just destroyers though, land units get stuck in lab on occasion too. Stumpy I recall to be particularly common, but that could be just cause a lot of them get made.
But yeah maybe it happens with the Destroyer a lot more, I do recall that happening as well.
As to the cause or a fix, no idea...

In the end I bought from these guys: http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk - can recommend them 100%. Idk if they've made it across the water though :p They're pretty surely europe only, but there's a ton of stores in US too selling customisable laptops based on the same Clevo chassises. I got myself such ...

As described in that post (or rather, the opposite was) - a start on an island or coast with several mexes within reach. And instead of simple open sea, have islands, straits, etc., mexes right on the coastline, and so on. Sands of War and Flooded Valley for examples. It be a GIAAAAAANT ROBOT with ...

Re: BA 7.78 Released!
I think sea was/is unpopular because all the usual sea maps (at least I can't think of a good one, not that I know all maps by heart) for big games are not good. And they are fundamentally bad in a way that's not really fixable mod-side. They usually feature at least 2 out of 3 major flaws. One is t...

Re: BA 7.78 Released!
Basically you get everything too fast. When you have to spend so much metal so fast, you cannot really base unit choice on scouting info but you just do something and hope you win the RPS. Before you had to follow a certain pattern, first get a scout or corvette or conship. Then react to what the en...
