Currently, a drone drops it's health to 50% while cloning itself, then goes back to 100% when done. I can see why this is realistic, the drone "splitting in half" and whatnot.
But it's causing headaches in the AI department, because Drone Engineers are programmed to "FIGHT" instead of "MOVE" to their destination. This means that they will reclaim metal and repair allies that they see.
The problem is that, if the drone engineer walks by a drone in the cloning/giving birth process, he goes "Oh noes, my comrade is wounded!" and sprays him with his nano-build-cannon, "repairing" him and costing his team metal.
Hmm, I suppose I could go for that. It is not like the two new cloned units have half of the original unit's HP, so halving it in the clone process doesn't make complete sense...
I'll look at the clone gadget to see how easy it would be to do. If you know how to do it, by all means go ahead.
