It's a standard run-of-the-mill current-era FPS. Except with an extra dose of lewd.

If you're longing for old school FPS, move along, it's not the right game. If you enjoy being shoved through scripted corridor-thin levels made of brainless gameplay and recycled ideas, maybe you can get a couple hours of fun.

I am rather enjoying DNF.

I like all the bits of interaction, then again, I would like a game that lets me throw cigarettes at hookers. I have to say the first thing I noticed though, in the casino level is they fully modeled the female genitals on the statues.. LABIA LABIA EVERYWHERE..

I kept playing, oh look a strip club level.. oh look impregnated chicks strapped to giant alien phallus' did this game NOT sell well in japan? I loled when duke made the appropriate quip about going back to japan with those tentacles.

So far I think it is an ok game.
What would save it...

mod the game:
- add back the ability to carry erraythang.
- remove the ammo crates replace them with a medkit(since you can carry all weapons, you should not run out of ammo!)
- increase ammo capacity
- increase ammo pickup
- add support for user levels, this shit gives SO much replay, "I made a level with 500 pig cops and explosives erraywhere I are genuis" is pretty much what I would do all day.
- add finer control of the graphics configuration.
- make single player achievements unlock mp items as well.

seriously, that is all I feel it would need.

Don't know why this game even has its own thread. It's terrible.

I mean, for starters it had a huge hype to live up to and it didn't just not live up to the hype, but it also majorly disappointed.

I'd play old Nukem over this garbage any day.

what would live up to that hype. You guys need to learn to ignore marketing. It is just as banal crass and crude as the old game and equally as run of the mill. The key attraction to dn3d was the level editor and all the crazy shit people could play in it.

Honestly, anyone expecting this to be deep, moving or revolutionary needs to never have sex, sex doesn't live up to the hype.

I expected it to be like dn3d but with mega graphics. what I got was holding up to 2 weapons at a time and no end of sadness

you can hold 2 weapons at 1 time? I don't know how.

It is like dn3d, dn3d at the time it came out was run of the mill with lots of gimicks and toilet humor/sex. Lots of poking out to saw down a battlelord and stuff.

dnf is the same sort of thing just for this generation of games.

you can have 3.. I thought you were talking about DUAL wielding, So you can take that accusation about being a prick and put it on yourself. because I was thinking there was a cool feature I was unaware of. Seriously, what happened to you.

Just finished the dr who cloned me. it was fun but short. The boss-fights were underwhelming tho.

For future reference, Smoth played the game after the patch that increased the inventory space, the rest of us played it before that.
