new TASClient version had some banner.

this is sad new for me. i was really shocked, cause i thought Spring goes commercial. it's annoying. i was crying out loud. i feel like "ACHTUNG!! ZOMBIES @ UR BEDROOM!! eating ur younger sister". need some healing from this bar. tea - lemon - honey - vodka -lemon - vodka-... no insurance to cover it.

imho: if u decided to have any info boxes in TASclient plz hide it in some tab or any where else. It overload main window.

if there is any way to disable it, plz tell me.

!votestart for disableing news bar (c)

Takes up about as much space as a double height taskbar for something most people won't ever use... Integrating news is a good idea, of course, this just isn't the way to do it.

Why should someone not be interested in news about new mods, maps and widgets?

i think the newsbar is a great addition, with the grey buttons it even fits into the layout (better than the golden ones ;) )
i would Not recommend putting it into a tab and hiding it somewhere, its the News and they have to be seen immediately.

+1, as grey banners they fit in very good, but couldnt the client recognize that i visited this news once (by clicking on it), so it wont appear anymore?

Good idea, but it looks awful, far too big and mine is animated (shows 9 buttons, then 1 button, 9 buttons, 1 etc.) Extremely annoying.
Just make an optional ticker/dropdown box.
Maybe just show 'latest' sections, then show full lists when you expand. E.g. Latest widgets column would only show 1 widget, then when you drop down show 10 latest widgets. Latest maps column, mods etc.

IMO this is a useful feature aimed more at people who would not come to this forum and poke around; many nubs have no idea that this forum exists.

27 pixels is not that big really (at least not for the res im using) and i dont find it offensive to my eyes... it would be different if the content advertised was not spring related... rest assured you will never see anything like "herbal viagra" or "partypoker.com" on there.

and yes, there are probably many ways to optimize the news service; the integration is brand new, im just happy and impressed that it was put up there TBH. for sure, if you wanted to look specifically at new widgets or maps etc, just click any of the links, it will open the springinfo site, and you can expand on your search from there.

forboding and satirik did some really good work there and i'm thankful to them for that... wanting the option to disable it isn't unreasonable, maybe mention that to satirik and hopefully you can personally disable it in the future?

even if it doesnt fit what you personally would like to see in the lobby client, im sure you can agree that for some spring users it's very useful and informative.
