Channels cleanup
Im requesting that we sort out the channels. We currently have more empty and unused channels than we have used channels. Channels which only have chanserv in them.
This is a problem because GUI based channel pickers are overloaded with masses of empty pointless channels that don't even have topics.

Re: Channels cleanup
I think this is a good idea also. I wonder if there is anyway to see when the last inhabitant of a channel was there, and clear away the oldest ones.
Re: Channels cleanup
>_< lurker has been in every single channel in the past 2 weeks
Re: Channels cleanup
When lurker logs into the lobby on his laptop the number of channels on the server rises by at least a third.
Re: Channels cleanup
So far, I have removed:
If anyone decides they want their channel back, tell a moderator and keep it active this time

Re: Channels cleanup
you can remove #kobs #KoBS #cookienet and #[] if you register battlehub to []AF
Re: Channels cleanup
#pro? wat we be chattin in our crib everyday
Re: Channels cleanup
The capitalized ones are different than the lowercase. PRO is inaccessible by standard commands, as is CPI. Your real channel, #pro, is still there and active.
Re: Channels cleanup
sorting into two groups, one group has 2 or less users present, and the other has more than 2.
More than 2 users: 56
2 or less: 210
79.8% of our channels are occupied by 2 or less people, and I assume most of them have chanserv in them.

Re: Channels cleanup
I'm basing it on channel activity in ChanServ's logs. I will add to my list shortly.
Re: Channels cleanup
Can't you just filter channels in your list?
Re: Channels cleanup
At which point users are dumbfounded as to why there new channels are not showing up for anyone.
Either way channels are not just a GUI problem for lobbies, they take up resources at the server end too.

Re: Channels cleanup
uberserver will only list registered channels with the "list" option turned on

Re: Channels cleanup
Also, you should probably hide all passworded channels by default in Uberserver and whatever AF's lobby client is currently called. (BattleHub? AFLobby? I can't keep track apologies.)
Re: Channels cleanup
Noted, locked channels will probably be hidden by default.
Re: Channels cleanup
Oh, and maybe hide topics for passworded channels?
