Blender model

Post by Agon »

How to make a model with Blender which works with Spring?
Currently I have the final model with different Objects.

Now I want to make the texture as an uv map.
But how can I make a uv texture for all objects as one model?

This is it

My problem is when I export, it don't save my object origins.
This is annoying, because I have to manuely set then up in UpSpring. And that sucks.

Are we the only people who use blender for Spring? :P

url_00: Do not know this. I think not. I tryed Wings3D after Blender and I could not understand the 3D-Movement.

To my problem:
Could you explain what you do after the model is done.

I tend to merge my objects for UVing and separate them afterwards. A really useful key for separating is L: Select linked. Point at a vertex, hit L and the whole chunk of the mesh that it belongs to gets selected.

Thanks, KDR_11K.
Let me list the steps:
1. Model
2. UV-Map
3. Separating
4. Export as an Object (Is there a s3o exporter for Blender?)
5. Reboot to Windows
6. Import into UPspring
7. Make a hierarchy
8. Export as an s3o Object
9. Make unit scripts
10. Make animation scripts
11. Lua scripts if needed

You can also use Blender under Windows if you want to.

There's only an OBJ exporter AFAIK, the object origin will always be at the world origin for that exporter so use alt+G to move the objects to that and export them one by one.

Er, wait, actually it'll probably work better to leave them at their relative positions and just move the origins in Upspring.
