I was confused, and then google told me things.
Ballpoint pens are still widely referred to as a biro in many European countries, including the UK, as well as Australia and New Zealand.

biro is the n# 1 manufacturer of ballpoint pens, they originally mass marketed them iirc.

Most people I know either call them pens or biros, mostly the former.

Really? Well they at least said it in the North East, where I lived for a number of years.

"the first satisfactory model of a ballpoint pen was designed by two Hungarian brothers living in Argentina: Lazlo, a journalist, and George Biro, a chemist"

Biro is the word for ballpoint pen we were taught in school. So much for trademarks.

I like it GMN; it has a nice steampunk feel to it.

I think that the lensflare style effect in the background distracts from the ship, which should be the foreground. It also doesn't really stick with the comicey feel of the sketch.

Have a look at how some comics like to abstract thrust flares:

Also, I'm not sold with the distorted perspective on the guns on the top; they look a bit strange, perhaps because they are the only ones with a distorted perspective, and perhaps because distorted perspective tends to say something, which no other part of this image seems to be saying.

Still, very cool.

Are those pictures meant as a subtle reminder of what it is I'm supposed to be doing?

You mean you havn't noticed that everything Warlord says is a subtle hint at what we shuld be doing?

I mean even people that don't work on starwars spring at all get hinted at.

Even just him saying "Hi" convays how, actully, you shouldn't be on the lobby, or MSN, you shoudl be working on textures...

:P To him even this post could have been better used texturing.

I even get hinted at, and I'm pretty sure I'm not involved beyond advertising planning.
