Try to use less contrasty mess. It's metal, not stone.

looks awesome, but this 'power backpack' makes kinda no sense for a unit with a halberd :P maybe add some shield in second hand or sumtin

if the halberd itself is a high potent energy weapon it needs a reactor

though looks like a stargate in the back

Perhaps i need more glow or blue on the halberd, or maybe the redness of the light on that map is dulling it down, but it is indeed an energy blade. (40k type, not star wars type).

It will definitely be covered in LUPS effects.

The backpack is a cloaking device.

So actually im kinda not sure why i bothered changing the texture. Might as well just have recycled parts from the model since you're so rarely going to even see the texture if he is cloaked all the time.

Give them a weak spot in back, but make them strong in front.

Wolf in Exiles texture is perfect and i shall brook no criticism of it.

Yeah, its important to be able to see teamcolour though.

The focus is the weapon and the backpack people, stop getting distracted.

It is wolf in exiles texture and it is one of the best in Spring, in my mind. He is very talented and this is excellent work by him. I'm not going to 'fix' his texture by removing the 'details' you people are calling noise. Other people have tried to 'fix' it and as far as im concerned, WiE's original texture is the best.
way to ruin a good texture
What, by giving it a new weapon? What on earth are you talking about? First i have to fix it, next i am blamed for ruining it.

Try and remember how much of how the model appears is result of the maps lighting. It serves me right for not realizing who my audience is. To get an idea of what a difference Tabulas lighting makes, here is the same texture on a different map.

The teamcolour may be a bit bright, which is not anything to do with WIE (no tex2), but its completely flat in WIE's original version, too, so this isnt obscuring any detail.

His original:

Your version:

They are not the same. It's not the map lightning, it's just not the same. His version does not have the noise and other things, yours does.

1st hoi i like your new avatar
2nd i think its the teamcolor and the missing reflection of the metal, what makes the unit looking like a stone-golem
