Ill admit. Sometimes im tempted. To just take whats there, in arms reach, to use it up, over and over again. To say fuck it all, to art & style, and be happy for a while. No more jpgs, no more tgas, not even selfmade, just take it into the game and be done as a prefab. Repetitvness? Well, everything gets repetive, so this is a sisiphus goal.

Crates. Containers. Boxes. You know you could use them, and be happy. Take uwv-mapping for complexe geometry into the cubicle and chop it up.

Anybody else ever been tempted?

And no its not meta, its not a reference, and no you shouldnt use it as a texture, its not even comapnion boxxy unfunny. Its just the temptation of lazyness. Drop a box, and everybody suddenly is moar relaxed.

Every fucking place in game history, has storage goods lying out on the ground. I blame games for chaotic people, we inspired the generations that created the financial mess.

So its evil too.

if you are modeling things like a Tiger tank, AK-47 rifle or <random car> for your game, you are doing it wrong. Those stuff is on the internet to the dozen, for free.
If you want to model because that is what you want to do (vs making a completed game) that is fine I guess.
But do not be surprised if stuff never gets playable because you spend hours on underwater mapping.

it is not repetive, it is an consitent art style!

dunno but suddenly - like a jumping jack out of the box - knorke seems biased to me- cubism much ;)

nah, its just.. wel organic stuff is hard, and boxes are easy, and the easy way is way to often taken.
