hard to do the scale with the limited level of detail we have and the fact that pewees are more than 1 story tall. but but smoth in my mind they are the size of men.. ok then explain the jeffy.

All arm units are controlled by a clone of a human. Not a human brain etc. The person and unit are exact copies of one random really awesome human. How they nano a person into existance is beyond me but that is what arm does.

I could bother to get shots of urban maps with references for scale etc but honestly, I am tired of it. you lot will eventually make maps where the units are the size of dudes and you know what? I don't care any more because you will still use the ugly assed random looking cubes you so love.

Perhaps this would be more appropriate http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLQxjLew ... re=related
hm yes, i was looking for a natural video though. One fail with that animation (yt) is that the rocket pods move too. Tanks always keep their barrel on target no matter what the terrain. Keeping the weapon level while moving might be the only reason to have mechs with arms. Ah well, its just games but it sticks out.
/e
the mech in the second video has arms but does not use them :/

Well obviously they're not perfect, I was just using them as examples of somewhat more believable robotic animation.

The story says nothing about wether Arm put people in suits or didnt, not at the end fo the war anyway, they just say that suits were controled by clones, or at least in the beginning. Such a long time has passed that they may all be automatons who've forgotten they were fighting against beign automatons in the first place, we just dont know.

The only clues are that there are windows in the units textures, but some core units have windows too, does this mean Core pilots inhabit humanoid bodies? I think its just the TA team changing their minds midway through on storyline.

Wrongo.

the story is very explicit.

arm and core are the same race
that race is human
arm realizes through cloning one can live forever
core realizes through patterning a person one lives forever.

core starts forced patterning.
arm starts elective cloning.

Core units have cockpits because they are 1:1 copies of the vehicles, with an computer intelligence running the controls that was once a person.

core does continue to pattern living things even towards the end of the war. Read boneyards, they pattern some general's bitch to fuck with the civi arm populace. stop making shit up.

so it stands to reason some core units may have been arm guys at one point. it also explains away how you can capture labs(which store the nanopatterns for clones or computer stored patterns). How you can res a unit if the wreckage is still there.

These are not automatons, the very heart of this war is that the individuals in question never die and continue to fight the same stupid war that they have believed in since the first iteration of their clones or patterns.

I really get tired of this debate and how so few of you remember such a simple story.

I do remember, i spend hours, fanarting that simple story out into some real drama. It could have been so much more.

I know rite? it had such huge potential for sequals or even more intresting a prequel. Just imagine peewee before he was the clone of choice? Or Assault Kbot before he was a pattern!

You mean Arm units?
I thought "Core persons" is a human mind running in a computer while "Arm person" are clones and still of blood & flesh. So the Arm units have cockpits will "humans" in it?
Why would a computer need a cockpit?

because it is a duplicate of the original proven machine knorke.

then the Core computer is superstupid, removing all the useless crap thats only needed to protect/support a human pilot would be the first improvement to do.

Aah right, I never really got that.
Now I also get Core and Arm refer to the centre and a branch of a galaxy.

You're being too harsh, on the other hand Core developed genious new concepts like the Krogoth
