for something with so few colors I would greyscale it and use a gif.
that too... but grayscale makes the graph paper outlines and the sketches indistinct. I'll try it next time, though, and if it doesn't work, PNG!!11!!!1!

Can I has cookie??
And, I don't really like the fan either. Perhaps if you moved it into the middle rather than hanging off the back like that and left the aux thrusters for added speed, or just cut it off and made the back a bit wider, as well as elevating the rear bit on the y axis for coolness. I'm by no account fantastic at design though. Scribbles nonetheless:

could be worth you taking a look at that unit for ideas MK. (I remember this unit from TAUIP on OTA. fires a bunch of starburst missiles, pretty neat actually.)
1. There's nothing wrong with doing very simple concept pieces. In fact, if anything, you're over-detailing a lot of them, and should concentrate on doing at least two views (top-down, side-on) with simple forms to get a better idea of how you want things to really look.
2. I agree with the majority, that the gunship concept doesn't work. It's like an unholy marriage between the Y-Wing and the HL2 alien gunship, and the balance feels really bad. Instead of trying to put a lifting device in the tail... try something like a true tail, instead, to balance vs. the weight of the cockpit forward. Remember... IRL, aircraft have to maintain trim, and it's pretty delicate. Aircraft are generally balanced somewhere near the roots of their wings.

@argh's #1: The pic you're most probably commenting on is a glamour sketch I made after making the model. I just did that for fun and for greeble practice/ideas. The model was actually modeled off of this sketch:
@thebigPK: sorry, but no. and sorry, I meant Bahamut Fury, not zero bahamut Oops!. that pic is actually an abortive try at aircraft design . I did have another vehicle from a video game as that aircraft's inspiration, and if you could guess that, you win 2 cookies!
now, onto what I wanted to say:
Raven, Mark II: I decided to go for 2 fans firing minus the boosters (leaving the boosters on was the result of an interesting story (i had hid the boosters, an they showed up again for the final render, then I thought "these actually spruce the model up a bit!" so i tweaked and kept them) your opinions? keep em, toss em, or change them from boosters to large bulbous energy core thingies? ) wireframe top-down view At maackey's request: orthographic side view
Also: Saktoth wants me to forgo the turret, and add a missile pod or something instead. What are your opinions? Can anyone think of a way to get a missile pod to fire when the ship is pointed downwards (as in firing mode)? I need suggestions and ideas
