Post by Beherith »

18x12 map, for up to 20 players.
Made with the usual world machine/carrara/photoshop combo.

Have fun!

Looks very nice, I like this new Starcraft-esque style with uniform ramps and plateaus because they provide better gameplay with all the pathing issues. Available at an [x]host near you!

Makes nice maps

for 10v10 battles

Guess I will dl it to look at the features but otherwise not interessted in it due to size. (map in that style for 1-6 players would rock though)

as a note, when a mapper does a lot of work finally releasing his new map, and someone makes an unrelated to the map request in the map release thread, it is annoying. I may not be speaking for beherith but I can say personally, I would feel you are just ignoring the work and that would be insulting to me at least. BAR requests should go in the BA subforum.

do you have ANYTHING to say about his map?

Is it possible for Maps to use the following ?

Tanks or robots use the same path in most cases to get from A to B.
They leave the traces - but they disappear then after some Period of time.

Is it possible for map to change its texture from a grass to a mud ?

I love Stones!
I don't like the transition from stones to the grass and vice versa and the uniform

I enjoy the sharp severity of it all (but no, I am lush and green! the map protests). The ramps will happily not create all the annoying pathfinding issues that I usually encounter trying to make ramps look "natural". I look forward to playing an absurdly crowded game on this map on [x]TheHost.

Well it's 18x12 sized, that's totally fine for <6 player games, it mostly has 3 narrow lanes to fight on.

The hard edged ramps are really divisive, it seems. Its ok, its hasnt been done too often, and I think the stonework greatly mitigates the looks. It also paths well, and gameplay on this map is extremely nice, from the 5 games I saw on it yesterday. People haven't even begun to utilize all the cheese options I put on this map (dropping and airplay can be very rewarding).

It looks a lot like some missions in Cannon Fodder. Thinking especially of those palm trees.

There are no booby traps in them, are there?
