Got this weird thing going on that doesn't happen on the windows installations of spring. On any map around elevation changes there are a weird scattering of darker squares.

See attached screenshot.

Any ideas how to make this go away?

I'm using the Spring_{develop}82.8.1-30-g5dbb98b application bundle on OS X 10.6.8.

i guess it is most likely to be a GFX driver problem. please attach infolog.txt as a file to your post.

I've seen that one as well. I think it's related to trees or decals not rendering properly on ATI.

Attached is the infolog.txt file, it's unintelligible to me but I'd appreciate anything you can glean from it!

More hardware details if that helps:
MacBook Pro, 2.3Ghz i5, 4GB RAM
Intel HD Graphics 3000 384MB

Interestingly enough the squares go away when using resource view (or whatever it's called when it highlights metal and geothermal).

Thanks for any ideas folks.

The only time I've ever seen this bug on windows is a very strange condition: if you had multiple .smt files (that differed) in accessible locations for that specific map.
Like if I had an .sd7 with a map and an .sdd with an older version, it sometimes grabbed the older one.

Hmm. That's not the case here. Just one version of any maps.

Any other ideas how to fix it? I've been playing with the resource view on all the time just to make it go away (as for why that fixes it... no clue).
