Right now the closest to a functional lobby on Mac is SpringLobby (I'm currently testing on 0.129). alphaLobby (unmaintained) used to work out great but died with the latest Qt SDK upgrade, and no one caring to revive the project.
Up to now several builds of SL have already been pushed via MacPorts (see the wiki on that), so basically there are running lobbies out there for Mac, catching up on latest versions.
