cool, i started uv mapping in wings. made a decent start of a uv map. cool. but now i want to KILL UPSPRING. because after all that frigging work, upspring sits there dumb fonded when i try to reload any model format with the uv on..... i hate upspring! so all that effort
i have all these uved models lying around but they dont have separate pieces! grrrrr

wut?

In wings you can seperate non-connected geometry with the Seperate command in object mode.

If you were trying to import UVs into upspring, that doesn't seem to work, or I was doing it wrong and have no clue how to do it.

It was a house from a really bad tutorial. 3d wings is so confusing with all the different commands and stuff i can't beleive how you can make all your models so good! even eightball with his tank.

I personally like blender, but it's not easier to learn to use than wings is.

This tutorial and others on this site were a bit too simplistic for uv mapping complex models. So I went searching outside the site and found this gem:

Should be useful if your model isn't a "death cube" or Borg mothership.
