XTA keybinds [IMPORTANT PLEASE RESPOND]

I need to know if people use any custom keybinds in XTA, like Beherith's. I am about to muck everything up, and I want to be sure that I make different keysets available for different player preferences.

well, any hotkeys.

Through the lobby I have already ascertained that people like their keybinds and such so ill leave them alone.


However does anyone use the number keys for things other than groups?

Does anyone have shift tab bound to anything?

i use selection hotkeys alot but no idea which ones are default or custom.
will you include good hotkeys for buildings so one has not to flip/search the buildpages so much? That would be nice.

sure, but just fyi the days of "flipping" buildpages are over. Now you scroll through a horizontal line of nice unit renders at lightening speeds!

I use them a lot. Allmost every structure is bind to a key(s). I allso use some selection keys.
'z' gives me shortranged/raider units
'x' gives me undamaged longrange units (>75% health)
ctrl + z all units of the same type
ctrl + shift + 'z' all units of the same type on screen
ctrl + a all damaged units on screen (<75% health)
c select commander
ctrl + c select commander + focus view on commander
k - cloack + holdfire

if you are interested i can post my uikeys, but then i need to clean it up first XD. It basicly comes down to the following:
q - cycles through all metal related buildings (mex, mm, floating/moho variants etc. )
f - cycles through all energy related buildings (wind, solar, geo fusion etc)
r (x2) - radar
e (x2) - nano
b - storages
v - dt/fortifaction wall
d - cycles through all the different defenses (so if you see me make an llt when you expect a dgun, it means i pressed "D" one time to much :P )

Im working on a system to make keybinds for all units in the factorys.
atm i binded q to make a con in the selected factory. for the other units i still have to find a good bind.

(EDIT: forgot to mention the D)

well i think what i will do at this point is provide 3-4 options like this:

-Gui-Optimized Keybinds
-Beherith Keybinds
-Floris Keybinds
-Custom

where custom will just parse uikeys.txt, and will be editable ingame with the editor

However, does everyone have the number keys set to groups?

Also im going to mess with the tab key. Tab brings up detailed playerinfo and stats. I need a different key for overview cam. I was going to bind a key to maximizing the minimap by request, but then whats the point with overview?

Don't change default binding of tab pls. I use tab to view to navigate the map almost every game.

okay well i will just make an option to enable keyboard interface to ui functions. Forget about keybind editor.


Can I at least have assurance that people use the number keys for groups only?

hehe k.

I kind of wanted to use the tab key for player info/stats/damage/points like pretty much all modern games, but if people dont like that suggest another key.

otherwise you will be clicking buttons, which is alot easier with this new ui but still keyboard is for pros.

That doest sound like something that youd need to check as fast as you can. If youre busy you concentrate on playing not looking at stats. So tuck it into some obscure place where it doesnt use up an important key or clutter the ui.

How about F4, as in OTA.

I never use different camera modes and would happily disable them altogether anyway.

F4 is mex view.

Is this like "fuck with the 2 buttons that pint does 90% of his macro with" week or what? :P

Is some of the f keys free though? I dont ever remember using f7-f11
