Why do T2 Bombers and other T2 air units cost so little but build so slow?
Seriously, I'm having to build like 100 nanos just to use up the eco from one adv fusion with 3 Adv Metal makers...

Here, have a boring 8v8 DSD replay to show you exactly what I mean :P

http://replays.adune.nl/?2391

Skip to the near end and check out mai base to see what I mean.

Why not?

The point is that its hard to spend all resources into air, but of course when metal is scarce like in a 8v8 game, it makes them a bit better in that case

Liche comes out so fast enough, and if you could get hurricanes faster than now... There'd be no time to scout for a tech switch like that before it kills you

I'm not saying it's a terrible thing. I'm just saying it's a bit silly having to build so many nanos just to make bombers at a reasonable rate.

uh...

reasonable rate? i can make enough bombers any time, since they are so fking OP.

2-3 is enough to pwn whole team at first 15mins or how long it takes to rush t2?

Would take 2, maybe 3 fighters to kill those Bombers... I usually have a nice fighter screen by 15 mins...

2 adv fighters yeah. t1 sucks so hard theyre almost useless

if you have fighter screen in 15 mins, then a guy who rushed to 3 adv bombers would bomb your base 5 mins before your fighter screen...

You can have 5 t1 fighters for 1 hurricanes cost. Not to mention those fighers build faster and dont need 3k metal investment to start building them.

Yeh but the point he's trying to make is that they suck. I wouldn't be surprised if T2 bombers were faster than them anyway...

Used to cause so much confusion. "WTF MY BOMBER JUST SHOT A MISSILE".

Not a good idea, just imagine what it'd do to Sands of War

But you can make a mex spot to such depth that its possible to make either a land mex or sea mex there, and both can be attacked. But possibly only 1 (or 0) kind of moho is possible to fit there.

Idunno, I like the idea of being able to build more land-gear as a naval player, but it seems like that stuff definitely belongs on the l2 naval engineer (but then again, the naval engineer already has a terrifyingly long buildlist).

Why would you ever start with anything but ships, if you not only get the strongest units but also fastest expansions? Nearly every mex is within a conships reach.

Amphibs or hovers wouldnt be too useful later game either, when ships could rebuild mexes very fast, and they'd make inferior cons.

I guess not, although personally I think sea should always be more useful on a sea map than vehicles except for suprise anphib attacks

Didn't they have a laser turret in OTA?

i think the core ones had laser yeah. they couldnt shoot air. which was lame and unfair.

From the OTA manual:
ÔÇ£HurricaneÔÇØ Strategic Bomber
Cost: 220 metal, 8050 energy
The Hurricane is a powerful bomber that can level buildings and wipe out units with equal ease. It is armed with a secondary light laser that helps fight off enemy fighters. Remember to repair your Hurricanes between sorties, as they are a big investment.
ÔÇ£PhoenixÔÇØ Strategic Bomber
Cost: 209 metal, 7624 energy
The Phoenix is ARMÔÇÖs most powerful bomber. Armed with heavy armor and defensive lasers, it is able to defend itself against enemy fighters and survive tough AA defenses. ItÔÇÖs a good idea to repair these expensive bombers after every sortie.
