4.0 -> 4.1 changes:
  • Some tips are now voiced
  • Missions now have briefings
  • TASClient got a KP skin (only in full installer)
  • Compatible with 0.82.3 (and there wasn't only AUC!)

Compatible with 0.82.3
Did you replace all your move types with gunships?

  • I added HeatMapping=0; to every MoveDef.
  • I set ACTIVATION to 1; in the Create() of every builder so they get their radar back.
  • I issue SetUnitMoveGoal only half the frames in HOMF.
  • I changed heroe's acceleration and brakerate.
  • I shifted the arguments in GetAIInfo.
  • I rewrote game_spawn.lua to handle AUC and in case there's maps with gaia units.
  • I added the missing arguments to Shot1, BlockShot1, Killed, Cons's StartBuilding.

I noticed it is actually impossible to start a game on a map that is not in the list of KPs Lua menu.
No matter what map you select when starting spring.exe you always get the menu and then are limited to the menus maplist.
While that is good for noobs, I would like a "i know what i am doing: play on other spring maps" button.

That's the point!
I would like a "i know what i am doing: play on other spring maps" button.
The advanced mode is: use a lobby!

But to be honest, the real reason I don't have an "other map" button was to avoid the extra coding to retrieve the map list.

"Zipped Mod, Maps, and Launcher"

you mean "Zipped Game"! ;-)

I mean it does not contain the engine (as opposed to the full installer).

The zip is good if you already play lots of Spring, know enough to assemble and trouble shot Spring components, but never played KP. It's also good for the Linux people.

If you run Windows and aren't too sure about how to set up a Spring, I still advise to use the full installer (even if Spring is already installed).

Oh wait now I get it, you're an regex rampage to replace all instance of the word "mod" with "game". Well, until Spring scan a /games/ folder, I'll continue to call Kernel_Panic.sd7 the "mod" file if only to not confuse the n00b wondering what to do with file.

zwzsg is wise and good, and I support his decision to call KP a mod.

In retrospect, I felt it looked like xmas lights when I made the gif, but if you are interested in texture modulation/vertex animation, I feel it holds some real possibilities, and is dead easy to implement.

Having bits and bytes go from glowy to less as they lose hp would be teh win (:
