How do i kill the green monsters that shoot green bombs.

I am playing the game ,i think i have the chicken normal ai and these green monsters that shoot green bombs destroy everything in a few minutes.Whats the best way to kill them ?
I built like 4 airports had like 20 planes and they were gone in a few seconds with these monsters.
Is there any weapon that kills them instantly ?
I just discovered this game a few days ago and i am loving it.
Except for those things that shoot green bombs.

Make shields - can you still do that in CA? Make shields and big guns under the shields - annihilators and doomsday machines etc
