triton, unfortunately I can not reproduce it nor can I find anything in the code that suggests this change (camera's remained near unchanged...)

What tobi might wanted to say in his invisible post:

ok.. but did u understand?
anyway tobi understood my prob, now i just hope he'll fix it

This is not a bug, but a feature. If you don't like, switch to Overhead camera instead.

triton: Use ctrl+backspace to switch camera or ctrl+f2 to switch to overhead camera directly.

A few general points I think should be considered for the release:

  • All the files in the main Spring Directory should be moved to their own separate folder apart from user files such as Selection Keys, Lobby Executables, TAS Server, uikeys, script.exe, spring.exe itself and any other files which may concern the user directly. The current Spring directory is messy and needs to be foldered.
  • The installer should ask if the user wants to place shortcuts for anything on their desktop, startmenu or such. Currently, SpringLobby is placed on the desktop as default.
  • @ Satirik: Please hurry up and decide on a new name for TAS Client. We've established the issue that we don't want to have anything to do with Total Annihilation as much as recognisabley possible.

Ordering the files is technically challenging, so no go for this release. (DLLs must be in same dir as executable or on PATH, lobbies and other external tools must be updated, etc.)

If someone wants to work on it for a later release then that is fine of course :-)

As far as I have seen when testing the installer last week desktop shortcut and start menu entries are already optional.

Satirik (maintainer/author of TASClient) said he wants it out of installer.

about moving dlls to a folder:
what tobi said, and.. i started working on it...
though it is not one of my main projects now, and it turned out to be less trivial then i though.. and sure is much much more complicated then you think ;-).
if anyone cares, look here:
viewtopic.php?f=12&t=20986
a helping hand would be welcome too of course, but i do not see anyone being very interested in this.
