i had a few nice matches a while back on the new folsom; hardly needs a remake for that one though

something tiny like icyrun might be a fun one to include (albiet a bit larger)

and i guess another i'd suggest is fields of isis

those last two are skinny maps, i've always felt that maps of that shape force direct confrontation and for that reason are friendlier to new players

People still play on parched mesa? I occasionally hear stuff about it... I had no idea that that map had seen so much use.

I'd be happy for you to do a remake of it. Shit would be epic sex :-)

Also, is narrow valley that sm3 map you helped me make? Or a different one?

At ground level

From above.

I am going to have to rebuild this map as I think the slope to ground transition is too abrupt.(8 hour compile for this big assed guy).

also note that this will be a 4v4 map. Click images for larger(trees are just vestigial as this is based on river valley)

Why not? 1v1 you guys have stuff like rocky glacier. I can make it smaller if you want and it would be easier but I planned on using narrow valley for my 1v1 corridor type of map.

So no one is responding because it is perfect? If so I guess I can do the dance of my people....

Honestly I am not keen on there being soo much space in the middle, not much cover IMO. maybe I should make the mountain protrusions larger? So there is less wide open space in the middle?

proportions are fine; my only concern is the massive size (which isn't a dealbreaker)

But why is the size a concern?

You could do glacier chasms, but that would result in textur stressing. Unless you make it a feature.

Dont forget to make it nubsafe, needz moar easy to porc in positions.

its the tradeoff of game length for engagement intensity... larger map = longer periods without fighting generally; thats my only concern
something tiny like icyrun might be a fun one to include (albiet a bit larger)
the reason i've enjoyed games of icyrun with gundam is that i can play a 1v1 and it'll be over a lot faster than if i were to play any number of other massive maps

you've taken "albiet a bit larger" to heart, and made a giant map, which is not a bad thing by any means (it is a good design and looks fun to play) but it doesnt really address the idea of a "fast, tight conflict" idea that made icy such a fun map to play "training" games. by enlarging the size of the map enough to make the two middle paths less choky, it changes the dynamic of the game somewhat.

the other reason i suggested that map in particular was because gundam has a ton of -huge- maps, and no -tiny- ones
