bdsm for the eyes, that is what spring users want. Give me hurt, give me dirt, make me cry tears and blood. If i wanted beauty and sissy, i would have choosen sc2
Wanted to point out how viewtopic.php?f=13&t=26732&start=95 would not be retro compatible with already released maps like this Moor, however, when testing I got:
Error: LuaRules::RunCallIn: error = 2, DrawScreenEffects, [string "LuaRules/Gadgets/gui_dualfog_gadget.lua"]:392: attempt to index local 'a' (a nil value)
The Moor is compatible and it doesn't even produce distorted terrain with advmapshading enabled. But if you want the dualfog to work you must use Moor_v3 or higher.

Purified Awesome and beauty.
If, of springmaps, speedmetall is water, and dsd is rain, then moor is the champagne. Only Smoth, Forb and Kaiser still in the Formula Map....
A Question: Would it be possible to add a splash detailtexturemap to a old map? I understand it would never be tabulaV4good (just because the lightsettings of the rendering wouldnt correspond.
I mean, take the colour of the map, deduct what kind of terrain it is. orange sunlightcolour, mostly brown, yellow - desert. Blueish sun, green leaves, djungel. Now if that autotexturer had some "one-size-fits-them-all" detailtextures with him, all those depricated maps that still hang around wouldnt be that much of a eye-sore. And if a mapper is unhappy with his compared to GRTS_Messa crappy results, there is always the tutorial to link him too.
It can be done with, for example, photoshop. Select hues with a rather high tolerance, and assign them detail texture and a splat map. Add some random noise. Also, I find that doing a high pass filter on detail textures reduces tiling effects.
Maps like Seth's Ravine are great because they're great for screenshots and showing off Spring but they can also be played competitively and feature good gameplay by disabling fog/features through the map options so nobody has any trouble. (I've never had any trouble with fog anyway but I see some people do).
So yeah, just include map options to turn fog/features on and off and sa'll good imo.
