if i read that right, they explain how they measure/prove that the diamonds are entangled, but... how did they get them to be entangled?

1. diamonds are a girl's best friend.

2. chicks dig chicks (there are plenty of excellent films that prove it)

3. ... nonsensical logic goes here ...

4. throw in some papaya cream and a little boom-chika-wa-wa music...
entanglement is bound to occur.

P.S. apologies to the 2.1% of the SpringRTS population that I've offended.

This is neat. It is suggested that these particles are connected by some high energy particle that we don't know about. That thing in the article about Einstein calling it spooky physics isn't such a big deal though. People these days are saying that Einstein may have been wrong a lot of things.

The quantum entanglement reminds me of the red string of fate:

"The red string of fate, also referred to as the red thread of destiny, red thread of fate, and other variants, is an East Asian belief originating from Chinese legend and is also used in Japanese legend. According to this myth, the gods tie an invisible red string around the ankles of men and women who are destined to be soul mates and will one day marry each other." -Wikipedia
