beautiful words

so in RL, is this game worth buying? I played duke nukem 3d to death, and I'm torn between the hope of feeling the duke once again and the fear that it will be poor and soil all the great memories

IMO yes. I found myself liking it more as I got further into the game, the casino driving bits still had me thinking meh.

After finishing DNF I dug out Necrovision for comparison (I wasn't very far into the second segment of that game, it changes drastically after the first segment) and it was more fun though. I think you can get that for dirt cheap on Steam (when I bought it it was 75% off). In DNF you can carry fewer total weapons than you can wield simultaneously in Necrovision, I'm wielding a claw glove with wrist mounted stake launcher and death ray on one hand and a rocket launcher in the other and if things get bad I can kick enemies away with a powered up boot while shredding others with the wolverine style claws in the glove. And the glove has other spells available that can be switched to. Oh and it can turn corpses into zombies that fight for you.

I think Painkiller is #1, followed by Serious Sam 1

It seems very good so far, just got to the crane part. I just wonder if it supports sli fully because I am getting some odd performance (ie dropping below 60fps with 40% gpu usage)

Considering how it looks I'd guess it's more CPU constrained.

Well I am running an i7 2600k at 4.6ghz, It shouldn't be THAT CPU constrained :?. I played a little more, almost done with the duke burger stuff, I am have a lot of fun with this game. Ignore the reviews. They want another COD clone....
