You can replace the Tick_ sounds with Dig_ sounds in the sounds folder. What I did first time they introduced the new rock digging sounds, it's agony for my ears otherwise as a headphone player.

In terraria your character is persistent, which means you can carry items into and out of different single/multiplayer games. Which also means lot's of people with cheated items. You can also host your singleplayer worlds or play your multiplayer worlds in singleplayer.

The only odd thing about all this is your max locally saved world/character count being limited to 5. Or maybe I just missed something.

to rephrase, each new game means new world to generate but with same character and equipment ?

wondering if Zydox wants to risk hosting another game :'

Worlds and characters are not tied together. You can use your old gear / characters in a new game.

Worlds are created, then used for either a singleplayer or a multiplayer game. The worlds are saved after hosted game is closed. Your characters are always saved on your drive locally and periodically as you play.

You can also start a new character if you want to.

Starfuries? They're annoying to find but not that rare. The rarest usable items are AFAIK the Jungle armor and the sunfury with drop rates of 1:150 and 1:100 respectively, the latter only dropping from bone serpents or skeletron. In the "not very rare but powerful" class there's the Muramasa (dungeon treasure), the star cannon (crafted from a minishark) and the various hellstone items (including the upgraded boomerang and handgun).

The new vanity items can be pretty rare too but they're only cosmetic.

75% off on Steam and patch 1.0.6 is incoming with major balance changes to make mid and late game combat more skill based than equipment based.
