Yes, the bastards can climb glass. To make matters worse, they can fit through 1-height openings as well. My solution is to just build a slight outcropping at the top of all my structures. Works good.

Minecraft totaly needs a "complex crafting tools" mod...
So that the crafting table and furnace and all that are complex structures you need to create and the more complex they are the more efficient up till a certain point(like a bigger more elaborate furnace made out of the right blocks at the right place or a crafting table made out of some supreme wood and is bigger).
