The lobby does not need to be full screen (see quake live), it could just be styled in a gamey way. We are working on that. It can be made full screen anyway, if it's beneficial. The player won't need to know it's separate from the engine.
I disagree that skirmish is singlepayer and missions/campaigns are not. I think they are all singleplayer, in fact imo skirmish is more like simulated multiplayer, it's a botmatch. Also who said "that's enough"? A lot of progress is being made.

I think, my fellow comrades, our springsovjet should set the target, that within the next 4 years, we got to produce a hundhread more marketing threads, to show the superiority of planned economy against chaotic western capitalism.
Lets screw it! Everyone for himself, and himself for everyone, like OpenSource always has been, like it is, like it will always be.
Note to myself: I got to work on that interwebwhip, so i can for my rebelling and unwilling minions on the lazyass-side of the world back to work. Right after i have done dishes, brb, my wife calls.

Your lobby design does not look professional. I think you need to seriously take a look at the design of multiplayer lobbies in successful commercial RTS games.
Finding a 2D artist is not impossible. Go heret, look for someone who draws nice game GUIs, ask them if they would like to participate in your cool project.
I am going to advertise Spring on SomethingAwful. I am sure many people here will say "BUT IT'S NOT READY". Well yeah, it's never been ready and if we keep sitting around talking about how it will never be ready, it'll actually be true. So I'm going to advertise it, ready or not. Maybe it'll be ignored but maybe it won't, point is I want to do something cause I'm god damn sick of these same shitty threads where we talk about the same damn issues that have been issues since Spring came into existence and will continue to be issues until people stop talking about them and start doing something. I'm not a coder so I can't help with things like that but I'm going to help where I can.
Seriously people we've been having these threads forever, they were here when I joined spring and I'm sure they were here before that too, lets stop this fucking tiring circle of criticisms and DO SOMETHING.
Ok, rant over
I'm going to advertise Spring, atm that will include BA/CA/Gundam, if you want to me to include your mod I will if you give me at least 2 screenshots and a short paragraph description of it. GASP so much work I know. Any screenshots are welcome, try to keep them high quality and preferably with a good-looking UI. Likewise if you happen to know of any particularly good videos, either comprehensive of Spring or mod-specific. And yes I know it's only a forum and it might not do anything but it's also incredibly active and full of people who are willing to try new things so I'm going to post it anyway.
Now, can we please stop telling everyone else how much they suck or how much Spring sucks.

My sentiment exactly.

Spring was already advertised in SomethingAwful, 4 years ago when it came in existence. Reception was pretty good.

Don't advertise Gundam, it's been broken for five monthes. And by broken I don't mean there's imba units or some random crash, but that you can't start the damn thing, it's not even listed in the mod menu.

If I remember correctly we had a bunch of Something Awful players that played with eachother... there were also a bunch from the Penny-Arcade forum who played quite a bit for a while

Alright, thanks for the heads up. I might also include S44, but I don't really know what its current status is, I haven't tried it in ages and it was really unpolished last time I tried. Any info on this?
Cool, thanks for the links, I was also planning to include KP but forgot ot mention it, I know it's just about the most finished and polished games we have around here.
On a similar note, it would be VERY nice if moddevs/players made installers for all the major mods. It's not that hard and the current lack of it is a much bigger deterrent than you might think. Lack of websites is a similar issue (sans KP/CA), because the Spring website is far too confusing and engine-oriented to be a good introduction to any Spring game. But of course that's a much more difficult thing that can't be done in an hour.
So right now the list is BA/CA/KP. I'm excluding other TA derivatives just cause they all look too similar and that would be confusing. There are other mods I'm not very familiar with that would be nice to have more info on, namely Conflict Terra and The Cursed. Are they in playable states?

Depends how you define 'polished'. Market Garden is certainly playable, and at least imo, enjoyable.
While that might be no biggie for the average Spring player, most people don't want to go through that, you could make an installer of some kind that automates it.
