This new cadownloader is a gem. We will never have to rely on UF or any web filehosts again. Anyone can get a map from anyone else who has it and is running the cadownloader. Spread the word to anyone who joins your game and needs a map. Seed it to them right from your computer!

-> changed "download" list box to show names instead of file names (so "Voiced Balanced Annihilation 6.1" instead of "VBA61.sd7")

Updated to 2.3.0.0

- client now contains radio button to switch search between mods and maps

- client now responds instantly if you join game with map you dont have and starts download

- client reduces upload speed to 1k/s when game starts and restores back when it ends

- several minor client improvements (shows what it seeds and when new map/mod is registered system-wide)

- protocol used by system changed to custom TCP (will add description to wiki) and removed any polling.

Note that you need listening port open/forwarded correctly or it wont work.

I will make it work behind firewall at least partially in the future.

Downloader had nasty bug causing it to eat 100% CPU.
Its fixed in 2.3.0.7 but downloader wont self update if CPU load is too high, so either click "get latest" or download manually from http://www.licho.eu/CaDownloader.exe

Sorry for problems caused .. it's stil new stuff and you are basically beta testing it..

System-wide tracker stats are here:
http://tracker.caspring.org/caupdater/tracker.txt

(upload and download can differ because different clients report their own stats at different points of time, so "max" of upload and download is actual value)

If extra hosts are needed for backup trackers. I would be happy to host one

Thx for the offer :)
In fact I still need PRIMARY server for the tracker.
It still runs on my home PC which is not designed to be a server.

I had few offers but I seem to be offline when those people are online.
Basically I need server (debian and windows works best) where you can install mono. Whole application is mono (tracker and P2P coordinator itself) and PHP - torrent uploading and stats.

Tracker itself should be relatively low bandwidth and low cpu load, but high number of connections. It's using 2 incoming ports and needs few mb of storage (for torrent files and stats).

Hi,

first of all, this is a good job you're going on.

I have a question about torrents. I don't know the protocol and I wonder if it's possible to have static http servers as seeds ?

If so, you have the best of each world :

- P2P from all spring players once lobby integration completed
- Static servers support for new maps or lack of players uploading

I understand that mutualized server doesn't allow you to run a BT client and fw ports to be a seed. But I was thinking about an http wrapper or something like that.

Yes HTTP can be used as seeds which is what im adding next to this system. There is thread in development with details how it works.

Well let me know what I can do. I have an Ubuntu server set up which I can install mono onto. Unless it requires a gui, in which case I have no X installed
