Re: SpringDownloader - maps/mods/widgets/lobby
SpringDownloader 2.1
=================
* added KP to game list
* added single player button (so far KP and CA have profiles set)
* lots of small tweaks and fixes
* linux support dropped - no linux coders available to maintain it
* .NET ugpraded to 4.0 and changed self updater - this is needed for upcoming visual changes

Re: SpringDownloader - maps/mods/widgets/lobby
cant u split the SD and ur lobby-project? i dont see the point in updating coz of your lobby i will never use. couldnt u release just a simple SD without any fancy stuff?
Re: SpringDownloader - maps/mods/widgets/lobby
it would be better to have that in Python or Java (the downloader part). And as there is Tobis rapid client in Python already, part of the work is already done there.
Re: SpringDownloader - maps/mods/widgets/lobby
I have no intention to maintain downloader as a separate project, too much work.
Re: SpringDownloader - maps/mods/widgets/lobby
Default map/mod save location changed to shared folder - to share across different spring versions. (It was spring dir if writeable, or shared)
(Unless DataDir is specified in spring config - in that case it takes precedence).

Re: SpringDownloader - maps/mods/widgets/lobby
Support of high DPI settings is abandoned? I see no issues at bugtracker.
Re: SpringDownloader - maps/mods/widgets/lobby
Yes, because it will be switched to WPF. Start tab is already WPF.
WPF is DPI agnostic - it scales along with DPI change so its not an issue.
Also DPI is already non issue on modern OSes (win7)

Re: SpringDownloader - maps/mods/widgets/lobby
request 4 option:
option to hide certain taps (dont deactive, no disabling - just hiding)

Well, i still see NO differences:Licho wrote:Yes, because it will be switched to WPF. Start tab is already WPF.

WPF power is too overestimated.

Ouch, ugly lol.. is that XP with 120% dpi?
(That tab is not in WPF, thats old classic windows)

Re: SpringDownloader - maps/mods/widgets/lobby
Yep, XP SP3 with higher DPI.
I must say ALL tabs are ugly except "Start" tab. Also SD does not remember app width/height which irritates cause its position is slightly to the right (so, right side is not visible) on each app run.

Re: SpringDownloader - maps/mods/widgets/lobby
Why SD puts dynamic data into "My documents" folder instead of _writable_ Spring folder? Can i turn off such behaviour?
Re: SpringDownloader - maps/mods/widgets/lobby
To share data between multiple spring installations.
Yes you can change it, edit spring configuration file and set DataDir to path you want to use

Re: SpringDownloader - maps/mods/widgets/lobby
Hm, is it possible to add this option into SD configuration (so user won't input any path manually)? My springsettings.cfg does not have DataDir key by default.
Re: SpringDownloader - maps/mods/widgets/lobby
SpringDownloader 2.2
=================
* fixes, rapid system updates properly (skips all system caches)
* "rejoin" bar appears if you join game that already runs (and have map/mod) or if you exit while game is running. It allows you to join running game.
Joining existing running game as spectator is crashy atm - unless there are free slots from people who left game, will be fixed on next spring engine update. It works on springie autohosts only so far.
